| The major tourist
attractions of Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh include the
Ram Jharna - a natural water source and a fascinating picnic
spot and the Gomarda Forest Reserve, which is home to many
rare and endangered wild animals including tigers. Raigarh
also has some beautiful parks such as Kamla Nehru Park and
Indira Vihar Park. Among temples the Gaurishankar Mandir,
Banjari Mandir and Chandrahasini Temple are the most prominent.
Prime Attractions
Ram Jharna
It is about 18 Kms. from the District Head quarters. It
has a natural water source. According to History, Bhagwan
Ram once had been here during his Vanwas, and had drunk water
from the water source. Hence the name Ram Jharna. It is a
very good picnic spot.
Gomarda forest reserve
It is situated in Sarangarh Tehsil. It is spread over 278
Sq. Kms. It is a natural home for many rare wild animals like
tigers, beers, etc. It is about 60 Kms. from the District
HeadQuarters. |
