| The outer door
is called Jhandi or Dinda door and this is the main door of
the fort. This has been built on a square khand. It has many
cells, which were used by the guards and the temple. There
is also a rectangular meeting hall. The roof of the hall is
supported by three rows of pillar, which are very well decorated.
From the ruins of the idols and parts of the sculptors, it
is known that Lord Shiv was being worshipped here.
The second door is popularly known as Manka
Dawar. It is similar to the first door. A beautiful idol of
Manka or Manika Devi is kept in the cupboard of the wall.
Nearby there is a natural cave which houses a Shivaling crists.
The third door is called Hukhra Dawar. The lower portion of
this third door is decorated with idols, one of the idols
being Lakshmi. The upper portion of this door is very beautiful
and is better than the other doors but is now in a deteriorated
condition. An idol of a woman with six hands, sitting on lotus
has been installed in a cell. Here there are also ruined idols
of Lord Ganesh and other gods. Apart from being a historical
place, this place is also known for its natural beauty and
is an important picnic spot of the district. Being situated
on the hills, it is a very peaceful and isolated place as
there are no people residing here. |
